The MHJ is pleased to announce that the winner of the 2018 Greg Dening Prize is Nathaniel Cutter.

Nat won the prize for his paper entitled ‘Turks, Moors, Deys and Kingdoms: North African Diversity in the Stuart Periodical Press’, which will be published in the 2019 issue of the Melbourne Historical Journal.

His PhD project looks at the origins, experiences and influence of British expatriates in the seventeenth-century Maghreb, focussing on social networks, news networks, religion, material culture and career progression.
